Today’s post covers a segment of customers moving from Productstream 2008 or 2009 up to Vault Profesisonal 2011. With the name change of Productstream to Vault Professional, several role names have been changed. This adds consistency in with role names across responsibilities like Doc Editor, Manager, etc. Also note that this scheme not only makes it clearer that some roles are different levels of the same type using Level 1, Level 2. The definition of roles can be found under Tools>Administration>Global Settings> Security tab. Click the Roles button and select he role from the drop down list to view the permissions applicable to that role.
The following table shows name changes in Roles and Permissions from prior releases to Vault Professional 2011. Upon migration from a prior release, these will be the new roles assigned to your users and groups.
