Today we’ll continue our spotlight on nifty utilities to use with Autodesk Vault products. This next one is technically a utility for Inventor Task Scheduler, which in turn is a utility for Autodesk Vault. You get the idea. This one is called Task Scheduler Viewer and is essentially a log watching program.
I found this on Sean Dotson’s MCAD Forums site years ago. Now, I have first hand experience with this program, as it saved me hours, perhaps days onsite working with a customer’s data in Vault. Here’s the link below:

Next, let’s take a look at a sample workflow of what this utility does. In this example, we’ll launch Inventor Task Scheduler, log into Vault, and run a Migrate from Vault.
And so it goes, you pick a folder or folders in Vault and click OK. Make sure you check the box that says ‘immediately’ and set the migration options to your liking. Note the log file name and location, I suggest giving each separate task a unique name.
Click OK to start the task. The Task Scheduler does give a nice set of colorful bars for percent complete, memory in use, but this is where Task Scheduler Viewer comes in.
Launch Task Scheduler Viewer and lick the ellipsis to browse for the log file created by Task Scheduler and click OK.
Task Scheduler launches and will start rolling in updated actions to the task at hand. Here is the real value, as you can see if the Task Scheduler is succeeding or better yet – failing.
Task Scheduler Viewer can save you a great deal of time if a setting is not right in your task, and finding this right away is better than finding it hours later.
