Imagine being able to instantly share a design review-ready Autodesk VRED model with team members across the world. They could evaluate it in real-time on any device, with the same level of detail as exploring it on a high-spec workstation.
Seamless collaboration like this is invaluable to automotive teams, especially given the extent to which the workforce has been disrupted over the past three years (Autodesk, 2023).
What if you could take that now signed-off, ready-for-market model, and turn it into a 3D customer configurator by applying an intuitive UI? This can then be embedded directly onto their OEM’s dotcom and accessed by concurrent car-buyers, all with the incredible quality of VRED rendering.
With 80% of car buyers agreeing that the OEM website has a direct impact on their final purchase decision (Teads, 2022), it is critical for OEMs to provide customers with engaging experiences like this easily, straight from their existing model pipeline.
Both of these scenarios are made possible with cloud streaming, which is now being made even more accessible to VRED users via ZeroLight’s enterprise-standard streaming solution, OmniStream™. This product allows users to realize the benefits of streaming their VRED content – all the way from the early design process with VRED, right through to marketing and sales with OmniStream.
“With the new OmniStream integration for Autodesk VRED we are bringing our unmatched experience of secure cloud-streaming to the talented teams using VRED, enabling exciting new use cases from design through to customer experiences. OmniStream has delivered over 50 million minutes of secure cloud streaming for automotive brands all around the globe and we’re excited to now be empowering design and review teams directly, and helping to take the power of VRED into new parts of the customer journey.” Jason Collins, Chief Product Officer at ZeroLight
Why OmniStream?
With OmniStream, VRED users can more easily:
- Collaborate securely on visual assets with anyone, anywhere, and on any device, powered by the computational capabilities of the cloud
- Leverage their VRED models in interactive sales and marketing applications, such as 3D configurators and other marketing experiences
- Reduce or eliminate the need for additional data preparation and approval cycles in additional 3D formats and packages, reducing both cost and time to market
How is OmniStream able to achieve this? ZeroLight has been cloud-streaming 3D configurators for automotive brands since 2016, achieving the industry benchmark for enterprise scalability, security, resilience, and end-user experience. With OmniStream, ZeroLight is placing that hard-earned experience and capability into the hands of VRED creators to cloud stream their own VRED models.
“We are happy to be able to extend the usage of Autodesk VRED to marketing and sales with this ZeroLight collaboration. Combining our strengths provides our joint customers with a new way to truly use their data from early design to marketing and sales, enabling a true enterprise-wide visualization pipeline, which will greatly reduce cost, time, and effort and thus speed up their time to market significantly. We are proud to be able to offer this revolutionary approach in times where efficiency is key to success.” Thomas Heermann, Vice President Automotive, Conceptual Design, and XR at Autodesk
