Para obter dados precisos sobre o vento, especialmente para cenários de planejamento futuro, são essenciais experimentos em túnel de vento ou análise computacional de fluidos (CFD, na sigla em inglês). Como os estudos em túnel de vento são muito complexos, o CFD se estabeleceu como padrão na pesquisa e na prática, com o auxílio de programas de simulação.

1. Realize uma análise detalhada do vento

Você pode iniciar uma análise do vento enquanto estiver no modo de design, movendo-se para a guia de análise do vento no menu lateral direito e clicando em “Run detailed analysis“.

Você pode alterar o que será analisado movendo o círculo de seleção. Ao selecionar uma zona ou limite do local, o círculo será centralizado no meio dessas formas. Você também pode alterar a área de análise para “círculo personalizado” para mover o círculo ao redor da tela. Escolha o tamanho (150-350m) do círculo de vento no controle deslizante acima do botão “Run“. 2. Para que você pode usar a análise detalhada do vento?

A análise detalhada do vento do Forma é uma ferramenta poderosa para avaliar a fase inicial do seu local em relação aos diversos efeitos causados pelo vento. Um efeito indesejado é a criação de espaços externos desconfortáveis devido a áreas de vento intenso, geralmente denominadas conforto para pedestres. Nossa análise de vento pode ser usada para identificar tais problemas e analisar o efeito de mudanças de projeto.

Em climas mais quentes, a ventilação através do local pode ajudar a refrescar a área urbana em dias mais quentes. Com a análise de vento do Forma e uma rosa dos ventos fornecida automaticamente, você pode investigar rapidamente se o seu design permite a circulação de ar pelo local.

Vento urbano

Em ambientes urbanos, o microclima e o conforto pessoal são fortemente influenciados pelas condições do vento. Através da estrutura tridimensional e disposição de volumes de construção dentro das cidades, é possível experimentar áreas com velocidades de vento elevadas e rajadas turbulentas de vento. Alguns dos efeitos que podem ocorrer são:

  • Efeito de corrente descendente (deflexão para baixo)
  • Efeito Venturi (através de espaços estreitos)
  • Deflexão para cima

Frequentemente, esses efeitos podem causar ventos de alta velocidade ao nível do solo, resultando em perturbações severas. Abaixo estão alguns exemplos dos efeitos de descida e Venturi, causados por edifícios altos e estreitamento de ruas.

Efeito de descida

O exemplo a seguir mostra algumas regiões desconfortáveis (cor laranja). Podemos investigar o que causa essas regiões clicando na direção do vento que suspeitamos estar causando os problemas.

Ao escolher a direção do vento sudoeste e mostrar as linhas de corrente passando pelo ponto de interesse, podemos ver claramente que as regiões de vento forte (cor mais escura) no canto do edifício alto são causadas pelo ar sendo empurrado para baixo (descida) pela fachada do edifício grande.

Isso é especialmente dominante no cálculo de conforto quando a direção do vento é a mais frequente nessa área, de acordo com a rosa dos ventos. Se a direção do vento fosse menos provável, o problema de desconforto ocorreria com menos frequência.

Efeito Venturi

Quando o ar é forçado a passar por um espaço mais estreito, a velocidade aumenta para permitir que todo o ar passe por ele. Isso é chamado de efeito Venturi e é uma causa frequente de desconforto. Observe como as linhas de corrente estreitam na ilustração abaixo, causando um aumento de velocidade indicado por uma tonalidade de azul mais escura no solo.

3. Entender a rosa dos ventos e ajustar parâmetros

A rosa dos ventos contém informações sobre a probabilidade do vento vir de uma determinada direção. Mostramos rosas dos ventos com base em dados do Global Wind Atlas.

No Forma, redesenhamos a rosa dos ventos tradicional para uso interativo:

A direção é mostrada em relação à orientação da bússola (Norte, Leste, Sul, Oeste). A frequência de ocorrência para uma determinada direção é identificada pelo tamanho do segmento correspondente. Além disso, a probabilidade em porcentagem da direção escolhida é mostrada no centro da rosa quando você seleciona uma direção.

A velocidade do vento é mostrada abaixo da rosa dos ventos em um gráfico. O gráfico mostra a probabilidade de ocorrência dessa velocidade de vento nessa direção em porcentagem. O valor padrão é a velocidade mais provável, mas você pode ajustá-la para testar outras velocidades de vento.

A própria rosa dos ventos é uma ótima ferramenta para uma avaliação rápida das condições de vento no local. Observando a rosa dos ventos, você pode responder a perguntas gerais, como:

  • Para quais direções de vento meu design deve proteger as áreas externas?
  • Minhas ruas estão alinhadas com as direções dominantes do vento?

Isso pode ser uma vantagem (ventilação) e uma desvantagem (altas velocidades de vento devido ao estreitamento).

Teste cenários de vento com a rosa dos ventos

Como mostrado no vídeo a seguir, a rosa dos ventos permite que você navegue pelas diferentes situações possíveis (combinações de direção e velocidade do vento) para o seu local e entenda com que frequência cada situação ocorre. Observe que, após selecionar uma direção do vento, a distribuição de probabilidade para velocidades dessa direção é mostrada abaixo da rosa dos ventos e pode ser usada para selecionar a velocidade do vento de entrada que você deseja investigar.

4. Interpretar os resultados da análise detalhada do vento

  1. Após solicitar uma análise do vento, você receberá dois tipos de feedback:
  • padrões de fluxo de vento para combinações de direções e velocidades na rosa dos ventos
  • uma análise de conforto do vento para pedestres

O mais interessante do ponto de vista regulatório é a análise de conforto do pedestre, para a qual diretrizes foram recentemente anunciadas na City of London. No entanto, para reagir aos resultados do conforto do pedestre, também precisamos observar a rosa dos ventos e os padrões de fluxo.

Conforto do pedestre

A análise de conforto do pedestre combina os padrões de fluxo de vento com as probabilidades definidas na rosa dos ventos para prever as áreas onde haverá velocidades de vento desconfortáveis ​​ao longo do tempo.

Na guia “Conforto” na aba da análise do vento, podemos ver os resultados da análise de conforto para uma determinada rosa dos ventos. A escala de conforto utilizada é a escala Lawson LDDC, conforme recomendado nas diretrizes mencionadas anteriormente. Um exemplo de resultado de análise de conforto é mostrado abaixo. A escala de conforto é exibida à direita, indicando onde é provável que seja confortável para diferentes níveis de atividade ao longo do tempo.

As áreas destacadas são:

  • A: Área calma protegida por um prédio inclinado
  • B: Área calma protegida pela estrutura Carré
  • C: Área de vento forte potencial devido a um efeito de canalização (Venturi)
  • D: Área de vento forte potencial que pode causar mais desconforto para uma rua comercial vizinha

Padrões de fluxo

O tema do fluxo de vento pode fornecer pistas importantes sobre qual direção está causando desconforto ao pedestre. Alguns locais no local podem estar sujeitos a vento de uma direção específica, o que nem sempre é fácil de interpretar apenas pelos resultados da análise de conforto.

Se analisarmos o canto superior oeste do exemplo de local usado acima, podemos concluir que são os ventos provenientes do oeste e noroeste que causam desconforto na rua devido ao aumento local de velocidade, como visto no padrão de fluxo:

Agora sabemos quais direções estão causando problemas no canto noroeste e podemos tentar fazer algumas mudanças de design para mitigar o desconforto ao pedestre.

Como simular o efeito da vegetação?

A vegetação bloqueia o vento, mas apenas até certo ponto. De acordo com as melhores práticas da comunidade de CFD, simulamos a vegetação como um meio poroso, ou seja, ela diminui a velocidade do vento ao passar por ela. O grau de bloqueio é determinado pela densidade de área foliar, que quantifica a quantidade de folhas que bloqueiam o fluxo de vento. A densidade de área foliar atualmente definida no Forma é de 0,25.

Especificamente, usamos o framework de Dalpé e Masson (2007) para descrever o fluxo de vento através da vegetação, com coeficiente de arrasto da planta igual a 0,2.

5. Reagir e fazer mudanças projetuais com base nos resultados da análise

  1. Fazer mudanças de design para melhorar as condições de vento é geralmente difícil, mas algumas regras básicas podem ajudar bastante. Existem principalmente dois problemas que podem ser abordados:
  • Efeitos de canalização/Venturi (aumento de velocidade devido ao ar sendo comprimido em uma abertura)
  • Desvio descendente (vento atingindo a calçada após ser forçado para baixo por edifícios altos)

Para mitigar efeitos indesejados relacionados ao efeito Venturi, você pode, por exemplo:

  • Rotacionar os edifícios para que a abertura do canal esteja voltada para outra direção
  • Reduzir a quantidade de ar que passa pela abertura, diminuindo o fluxo

Vamos dar uma breve olhada na segunda alternativa. A ilustração abaixo mostra como o conforto do pedestre pode ser aumentado com a introdução de objetos de bloqueio, como árvores.

6. A tecnologia por trás da análise do vento

A análise do vento no Forma é de ponta e é realizada usando dinâmica de fluidos computacional (CFD) totalmente em 3D, por meio da ferramenta computacional de código aberto OpenFOAM. Saiba mais sobre a tecnologia por trás da nossa análise do vento aqui.

7. Limitações da análise do vento

  1. Existem casos em que não conseguimos executar a análise do vento. O problema mais comum é que a análise do vento é interrompida devido ao terreno ser muito íngreme. Isso geralmente ocorre quando o terreno próximo ao limite do túnel de vento é muito íngreme ou quando há uma variação significativa na altitude em todo o túnel. Se você encontrar esse problema, pode explorar duas soluções potenciais:
  • Modificar ou suavizar o terreno em regiões com gradientes acentuados.
  • Mover o círculo de vento para longe dessas áreas íngremes.

Além disso, em alguns casos, a complexidade ou tamanho das geometrias envolvidas pode fazer com que a análise de dinâmica de fluidos computacional (CFD) falhe, resultando em nenhum resultado computado. Nessas situações, é aconselhável considerar:

  • Simplificar o modelo
  • Ajustar o círculo de vento para analisar uma parte menor da área.
