You already know that AU 2017 is fast approaching—we’re looking forward to seeing you November 14-16 at the Venetian in Las Vegas. What you may not know is that Forge DevCon is joining forces with AU this year, so you can conveniently attend both events. Forge DevCon is taking place at the Venetian, November 13-14. And if you attend both AU and Forge DevCon, it’s a scorching good deal.
What Is Forge DevCon?
You’ve likely noticed that Autodesk products include a large number of web-based SaaS offerings these days, such as Fusion 360 and BIM 360. And you may have noticed that even the “desktop” versions of Autodesk products (as they’re so quaintly called) like AutoCAD, Inventor, and Revit are making increasing use of web services to process data, improve collaboration, and increase capabilities.
Well, Forge is the cloud-based platform of APIs and components that Autodesk uses to develop those web services. You can also use Forge to develop your own stuff. So whether you want to build web and mobile apps for your design or architecture firm, customize your Autodesk tools, or build independent cloud-based design services, Forge is how you connect data, processes, and people for design and engineering.
The robust Forge developer community gathers every year at Forge DevCon to share knowledge, experience, tips, and insights so you can move your projects forward. (If you attended DevDays at AUs past, Forge DevCon is a similar experience on steroids.)
This year, Forge DevCon will offer more than 50 classes to choose from, including keynotes, hands-on labs, and workshops. You’ll also have the opportunity to learn from peers to see what they’re building and how they’re building it. There will be classes about developing for AEC and design & manufacturing, as well as classes focused on developing for AR and VR, IoT, and disruptive technologies of all kinds. There will be a dedicated Forge Answer Bar where you can talk 1-on-1 with Forge developers to get your questions answered. And on Tuesday, November 14, you can attend DevLab, an informal place to drop in, work through self-paced development tutorials, and get help from the Forge team. In short, if you’re developing apps or managing the process, Forge DevCon is something you won’t want to miss.
Combining Forge DevCon with AU
A Forge DevCon pass is $295. But if you’re already attending AU, you can add DevCon for just an additional $95. Unbelievable, right? It’s an unbeatable opportunity to attend 2 great conferences at the same time and place.
If you’re attending both conferences, then on Tuesday, November 14, you can choose from the 25 Forge-related classes being offered, or mix and match Forge and other AU classes. DevCon wraps up on Tuesday, so on Wednesday and Thursday at AU, you can continue to take classes focused on software and development, or you can move on to other topics. The possibilities are unlimited.
If you haven’t purchased your AU 2017 pass yet, you can add Forge DevCon when you do, and pay $1,845 for both. (Remember that AU pass pricing increases after October 16.) If you’ve already purchased your AU pass but would like to add DevCon, we’ve got you covered. Just contact customer service and they’ll charge the additional $95 to the same card. You can reach them by email at autodeskuniversity@autodeskevents.com or by phone at 888-371-1722 (toll-free in the United States) or 415-446-7717.
AU and Forge DevCon are both incredible opportunities to learn, network, and boost your career. Put them together, and it’s that much better. So put your software development projects on the fast track and sign up for both.
We’ll see you in Vegas!
