In recent years, strong recruiting and a reshuffling of competitive districts have helped up-level the play. Over the coming days, the Conference’s East and West divisions will take it to the mats, go mano a mano, and duel it out for a shot in the sweet 16.

Simulation finished 2015 on a high note and is looking to solidify their gains at AU 2016. They’ll kick off the Tournament of Topics against Game Design, a squad whose creative play has them poised for an upset. In other Round 1 matchups we’ll see Process Planning and Factory Layout take its zone defense to the full court press and routine traps that make up Motion Capture’s bag of tricks. Product Design squares off against Autodesk for Educators—don’t overlook this smart and savvy team, they’re students of the game!

In the Conference’s vaunted West division, PLM and Data Management bring sharp organization and solid team play to their matchup against Animation and Entertainment. Meanwhile, other key matchups like Software Development versus Digital Manufacturing will help round out a competitive bracket in AU’s Manufacturing & Design Conference.
