Doing More, Better, with Less: Andrew Anagnost’s Vision for the Future of Automation

Have you heard the news? Automation is happening.

Actually, it’s been happening for several centuries, which has been cause for both great rejoicing and great consternation. But it’s happening faster now, as more and more of the tasks of our daily and professional lives are handled by machines. That means we’ll have to change how we do things—and how we do our jobs.

In his Opening Keynote at AU Las Vegas back in November, Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost dove straight into the roiling waters around the topic to share his vision for the importance and potential of automation in a world with a growing human population and limited natural resources. And he brought out customers and makers who are leading the way into the automated future.

“Each era of automation, from the first industrial revolution through the present digital era, has created more jobs, not less. Why should we assume the new machine age—the new era of automation—will be any different?”

—Andrew Anagnost, Autodesk CEO

We unpacked Andrew’s keynote to understand how automation will enable us to do more, do it better, and do it with less—just like it’s been doing since the dawn of the industrial revolution. Check it out.
