Time to start thinking about your AU Las Vegas 2016 class proposals

Yep, it’s that time again. The AU Las Vegas 2016 Call for Proposals is just around the corner—opening in April. Maybe you’re a seasoned speaker, or maybe you’re a first-timer. Whatever the case, we can’t wait to hear your ideas, so get those gears turning and bulbs popping. We’ll bring you more info in the weeks to come, but for now here’s a quick look at this year’s hot topics. We’re particularly interested in class proposals on:

Product Design – AU 2016 will continue to focus on the changing world of product design and how you can keep up, and stay ahead.

Building Construction – We’ll look at BIM workflows that are changing the way we design and construct buildings, and how you can improve collaboration across multiple teams and projects.

Structural Engineering – We’ll examine emerging trends and technologies, plus learn model-based workflows and tools to improve design productivity, accuracy, and analysis.

Internet of Things – We’re putting IoT in the spotlight this year, focusing on how connected systems can enable cycles of self-improvement. Sound far-fetched? Check out Autodesk Research Intern Lisa Rotzinger’s talk at last year’s Leadership Forum to see how designing connected objects in context will change the future of making things.

Design Visualization We’ll build on last year’s great Design Visualization LIVE kickoff and continue to harness emerging expertise, diving even deeper into uses and implications across all industries. Industry leaders like Jeff Mottle, founder of CGarchitect, helped shape a first-of-its-kind experience for visualization professionals during AU 2015. This year, AU will continue to be the place the design visualization community turns to for insight and innovation.

3D Printing is changing the face of product design and production. We know it. You know it. So we’ll continue to highlight how today’s manufacturers, designers, and doers are (ahem) shaping the future of making things.

These are just a few of the many great topics we’re planning to explore at AU Las Vegas 2016 this November. (You do remember it’s in November, right?) But we can’t do that without inspiring people like you, who are out in the field pushing the design and engineering envelope—and using Autodesk technologies to do it. That’s right, we mean you. So get ready. Because here we come.
