Design Collaboration continues to be a growing product, and we are constantly working to make improvements. A recent focus improvement area has been the experience when setting up a project. As such, we are pleased to announce new project template functionality for Design Collaboration, in both the Autodesk Construction Cloud and BIM 360 environments.
We have been working on improving the experience and features of the Changes tool in Design Collaboration, both in BIM360 and ACC.
Change Analysis Tool in Design Collaboration
Back in February we launched a brand-new feature to help our users to manage the risk of change in their design projects: the ability to create watch groups.
We are pleased to announce the enhancement of Supported Documents in ACC and BIM 360 Design Collaboration.
Supporting documents can be added to packages to provide additional context to the package. For example, you could add specifications or other non-design oriented documents to be included with the package of design files.
We’ve been working to support more projects across Change Analysis. As such we are pleased to announce that we now support the creation of Watch Groups for 3D DWG and IFC files.

We are pleased to announce the new Team content folders capability in Design Collaboration.
The Team content folders feature provides more control for design teams, enabling them to define the folders in their team space that contain the relevant design models and content for collaboration workflows.
This feature also reduces the number of files which need to be processed and will increase the performance of Design Collaboration.
We are pleased to announce the launch of Automated Change Analysis in BIM 360 within Design Collaboration.
BIM 360 customers can now track design changes to items or models of interest and review change data using a dashboard in the BIM 360 platform, in addition to the current Autodesk Construction Cloud offering.
We are pleased to announce the release of spatial model alignment functionality in Design Collaboration. Models can now be aligned with one another using several transform actions. The newly aligned models can then be used in Design Collaboration to drive cross-industry, collaborative workflows and in Model Coordination for coordination of multi-format design and trade models.
We are continuously working to improve Design Collaboration, expanding our supported workflows to increase collaboration capabilities across projects. As such we are pleased to announce the following updates:
DWGs Supported for Design Collaboration
Teams who rely on DWGs for day-to-day design and detailing, like civil engineering firms and multi-discipline firms,
We are continuously working to improve Design Collaboration, streamlining our workflows by removing unnecessary steps in and out of the administrative experience, also in the context downstream workflows with other applications.
With the new feature of Team model coordination administration, we will provide a unified administration experience between Design Collaboration and Model Coordination to project managers and Design Collaboration administrators when creating coordination spaces.
