Autodesk Forma, available in the AEC Collection or as a standalone subscription, offers powerful AI-powered tools for architects and designers in pre-design and schematic design phases.
With Autodesk Forma and our extensive suite of environmental impact analyses, you can become a sustainability ambassador and better meet stakeholder expectations on environmental and living qualities.
Today, we highlight our Embodied Carbon analysis. In just a year since its release, we have made significant improvements to this tool, and we want to update you on its latest and greatest enhancements.
What can you do with Forma’s Embodied Carbon Analysis?
Embodied Carbon Analysis provides near-instant results, detailing lifecycle embodied carbon data of buildings with accessible visualizations and insights. This helps architects compare embodied carbon across different design scenarios and make informed choices to minimize carbon footprint.
Realized in collaboration with C.Scale, this analysis and its insights can positively influence decisions on building form, structure, and primary materials.
Latest updates in a snapshot:
- Increased customizability: In addition to using the default carbon intensity data, you can also vary scenarios, view their data sources, and customize these values.
- Support for 3D Sketch: This latest enhancement lets you analyze the embodied carbon of buildings drawn using 3D Sketch, Forma’s conceptual modelling tool.
- Study imported buildings: You can now import buildings into Forma, run this analysis, and modify the design using 3D Sketch if needed.
- View in Compare mode: You can use the Compare mode in Forma to view carbon impact between different design scenarios side by side.
With the easy to interpret results from Forma’s Embodied Carbon analysis, architects can feel empowered to start the conversation about their project’s carbon emissions from day one.
