You might have read about our journey and I’m happy to share that Autodesk Toronto has officially landed at our new home at MaRS Discovery District. In one of the world’s largest urban innovation hubs, our official opening in this building is particularly important. Why? Because MaRS is all about tackling key challenges, collaboration on and commercialization of discoveries.
Autodesk has been contributors to the Toronto business community for some time. In recent years, the company began creating Technology Centers at strategic locations all over the world, and now we have our very own here in Toronto.
At yesterday’s official opening, we received a warm welcome from neighbors like The Vector Institute and Johnson + Johnson Innovation JLABS and were also joined by Autodesk CEO Andrew Anagnost; Autodesk CTO Jeff Kowalski; the Mayor of Toronto John Tory and the VP of Corporate Development and Partnerships at MaRS, Karen Greve Young.
Our 60,000 square foot space houses more than 250 Autodesk research, product development, sales, marketing and human resources team members. The two office floors are the first large-scale example of a generatively designed office layout and we also have one additional floor that is ideal for Toronto community collaboration and exploration.
Our new office space is a place where our customers, partners, experts and academic and government leaders can come together to explore the future of making things. Our goal is to research and showcase what is possible with emerging technologies, like artificial intelligence; build solutions that address the world’s epic challenges and invest and partner with start-ups, academia and governments to create a shared vision for the future of innovation.
I hope you’ll join us!
