The Call for Proposals for Autodesk University 2021 is now open! You have 10 more days to get your ideas organized and submitted. AU 2021 will be a digital conference held this fall. We’re excited to bring the community together for a new AU experience in 2021 and would love to have you participate. There are several types of classes you can propose: Industry Talks, Instructional Demos, Panels, or Product Briefings. This current call for proposals is for classes only – we’ll be addressing other content types like Theater Talks and articles at a later time.

If you want to know more about the AU 2021 conference in general, visit the AU website for the latest information on dates, registration, cost, and more. Check the event FAQ page for details as they become available.

How to submit a proposal

Submit your proposal via the AU 2021 proposals page. You’ll need an Autodesk ID to sign in. If you don’t already have an Autodesk ID, you’ll be prompted to create one. Also available on this page—we recommend drafting your ideas offline using the Proposal Worksheet and viewing sample proposals prior to submitting. Do not submit test proposals.

What makes a great proposal?

Make your proposal stand out! There are Six Tips for Creating Your Best AU 2021 Proposal in the AU blog. Speaking at AU is a great way to build your reputation and grow your professional network while helping other professionals work smarter. In the process, you’ll help your entire industry advance. I know I always love hearing customers and our partners share real life examples of implementing enterprise solutions like PDM and PLM in their organizations. I’ve never not come away from inspirational ideas when our customers share their journeys!

Data and Process Themes

Need some ideas on what to propose? Here are a few suggested themes from the AU sites FAQ that directly relate to PDM/PLM:

Cloud Collaboration:

Show how cloud-based collaboration and data management allow your teams to orchestrate design and engineering work more easily and efficiently.

Connected Data:

Explain how a cloud platform, open data standards, and a connected partner ecosystem support integrated data workflows from design to operations.

Convergence:

Show how centralized data, connected technology, and integrated workflows are increasing cross-industry collaboration, enabling design and manufacturing convergence and making possible connected design-to-make and/or design-to-build processes with a seamless flow of data.

Your vote counts!

Voting for classes is now open and available until May 12 – navigate out to the site and make your voice heard. Weigh in on AU 2021 by giving your favorite proposals a thumbs up.

Get those proposals in and don’t forget to vote! I’ll be putting the finishing touches on my proposal(s) for this year too and hope to host another meetup. Looking forward to connecting during AU 2021!
