Document Management Updates – January 2022

We kicked off 2022 with some exciting product updates and improvements around Document Management in January. Learn more about them below:

Files | Search Improvements for all BIM 360 Projects

BIM 360 Docs members on web can now filter search results and filter folders by a custom attribute and its value as well as see their search query highlighted in their search results. Members can include or exclude subfolders from said search and view or rerun the most recent searches. This release brings the new search features to all BIM 360 Docs projects, regardless of creation date, including projects created before September 23, 2020.

Files | Search and Filter by Review Workflow Status

Available on ACC and BIM 360, members on web can utilize the search bar to query Review workflow statuses as well as se the “Filter files” panel to conduct the same or a more extensive search. This retrieval of information reduces the headache of manual searching.

Files | Export Log of Reviews

Members can export a summary log of reviews by either clicking “Export All” or refining their criteria through filters. This allows for a more selective list based on status, workflow type, initiator, next action, and start/end dates.

Files |Import/Export Naming Standard Improvements

Previously, a project admin could streamline the process of exporting a .xlsx template and adjust the naming standard attributes in MS Excel for ease of use and import to a single project or multiple projects. Now, members can re-import a naming standard .xlsx file to update the existing naming standard when there is no file in enforced folder. This provides more approaches to customize the naming standard.
