Every shot, asset, and animation tells a story. But before audiences ever see the final result, that work has likely gone through dozens, sometimes hundreds, of reviews. Notes are discussed, versions are compared, and stakeholders weigh in. Review isn’t simply a checkpoint, it’s where ideas evolve and creative decisions happen.
Post-production teams using Flow Production Tracking (formerly ShotGrid) have relied on multiple review workflows to support this process. As productions have become more distributed and collaborative, teams often need to move between different review experiences to compare versions, capture feedback, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Today, we’re introducing Review in Flow Production Tracking: a unified review experience that brings together the capabilities teams already rely on, and more, into a single connected environment for reviewing media, comparing versions, providing feedback, and collaborating in real time.
What does “your home for review” actually mean?
Review brings together key workflows inside Flow Production Tracking into a single interface. Teams can review media in a modern web-based player, compare versions using Hold, Ghost, and Compare modes, add frame-accurate annotations, leave notes, upload attachments, and more, all within the same review experience.
“We’re very excited about the compare versions feature that allows for quick review comparison to previous versions to ensure that all notes were addressed.” Karina Benesh, Associate Producer, Warner Bros. Animation

Review also keeps teams connected to the broader context. Related versions, playlists, and cuts can be opened directly from Review, making it easier to see different versions of a shot without going back and forth.

The goal is to keep media, feedback, and creative context together in one place.
“The review ecosystem is unified, evolving, and provides several options to review creative work” Kevin Porterfield, Pipeline Supervisor, Warner Bros. Animation
Real-time collaboration with anyone, anywhere
Some of the most valuable feedback happens when people are looking at the work together. Decisions are often made during approval sessions and artist-supervisor conversations. Live Review brings those discussions directly into Flow Production Tracking.

Teams can host synchronized review sessions with real-time playback, annotations, and feedback. Artists stay aligned on the same frames, comments, and discussions, whether they’re in the same room or joining remotely.
Need to bring in more stakeholders? Invite anyone from your Flow Production Tracking site to a Live Review session, even from RV. Whether artists are reviewing remotely in RV, the director is watching from the screening room, or teams are collaborating in Flow Production Tracking, teams can stay in sync from anywhere, with seamless playback across every review experience.

How does this help teams move faster?
One of the biggest challenges isn’t creating feedback, it’s maintaining context around that feedback. When artists and supervisors revisit a version days or weeks later, they need to understand not only what changed, but why.
Review keeps conversations connected to the work itself. Previous annotations can be reopened, notes remain accessible, attachments stay linked to discussions, and historical feedback becomes part of the record instead of being scattered across separate tools or conversations.
And if you’re working from a different device, Review is available across desktop and mobile devices and can be set as the default player throughout your Flow Production Tracking site.
