BIM 360 Docs Update – April 11, 2019

Joan Allen
April 11, 2019

The April 11, 2019 BIM 360 Docs update delivers a new, improved document search experience, review workflow enhancements, and other performance and usability improvements.

New, Improved Document Search Experience

The new search experience, which enables you to find documents based on document name, file name, and custom attributes (in a folder and its sub-folders) includes:

  • Updated list view, with a fixed column for document name and scrolling to see the other document data
  • Same contextual action menu as in the Docs folder view – including ability to multi-select and edit attributes, edit Set assignment, and create transmittals
  • For each document in the search results, a direct link to its folder
  • Faster loading of search results

Review and Approval Workflow Enhancements

You can now submit documents from multiple folders in a single review workflow.  Once you select documents from one folder to initiate a review, you can add more documents from other folders before submitting for review.

This release also includes usability and quality improvements.  We look forward to hearing your feedback!

Miles to go when comparing to the Drawing Search capabilities of Procore which runs a deep search for terms on each sheet/page part of a drawing set. Very frustrating!
